Cervical Spine

Now playing: Passive Physiological Lateral Glide Treatment

The lateral glide technique is a wonderful technique to decrease pain in the cervical spine. Although primarily utilised to decrease pain, this technique can be applied to increase range of movement at the selected level by mobilising the structures into resistance. Again, skilful handling is required to maximise the effectiveness of this treatment.

Once you watch this video and learn how to apply this technique you can address pain in the cervical spine. Importantly, this is a fantastic technique to apply for patients with adverse neural mechanosensitivity. Side glides towards the painful side can offload the stress to the nerve while bringing about important movement at a specific level in the spine to decrease pain and stiffness.
